DC Metro Cooking Show

Tickets are on sale now. My husband and I are seeing Top Chef judges, Tom Coliccio and Gail Simmons, plus Giada De Laurentis.

Husband made dinner

I'm on my spring break but I ended up pet sitting for my parents and watching both of my nephews this past weekend. My nephews are college and high school age which makes them easy to watch but we still fed them several times a day :) My hubby made some cheesy pasta, and boneless pork chops, garlic crostini, roasted tomatoes, and steamed peas.

So many seedlings!

BBQ

Our friend Charlie's family has a smoker. We made three racks of pork spareribs, potato salad, coleslaw, jalapeno cheese cornbread, goat cheese stuffed peppers and oatmeal butterscotch cookies. We wanted to have a BBQ because Anthony made a batch of strawberry (and other berries) BBQ sauce. It's awesome tasting! The ribs rubbed with Anthony's blend of spices

St Patricks Day

Costco sold really cute ravioli for St Patricks Day. I did make corned beef, cabbage, carrots and potatoes in the crockpot on a different day too.

Mango Pineapple Coconut Sauce

This is a bottled sauce I bought at fresh market. I've had several people tell me how much they love mango chicken lately so I thought I'd try this sauce. It's not a strong mango flavor and you taste a lot of coconut flavor. I liked the sauce, it's just not mango sauce :) We put the sauce over some chicken and peppers, with steamed rice and snowpeas. I happily took the leftovers to work!
