Potstickers

I have finally mastered the pan fried potsticker.  It is my new favorite late night snack

HomeChef

I am still on the fence with HomeChef.  On one hand I can cook without someone simplifying it and I can make it for cheap, on the other I really really dislike the grocery store.  Homechef delivers the ingredients and easy recipes to meals you choose.  You can set up how many meals, how often you want delivery, etc.  I've had 2 weeks of delivery and I have stopped my account for next week.  This time around I have three meals to cook and eat so I need a time out. What I've tried so far has been tasty and very easy to put together.  Sometimes I can cook, eat, and clean up in under an hour. My first shipment was two meals, each meal 2 servings. Cheddar Chili Aoil Burgers with Sweet Potato Fries .  This recipe was spicier than I expected, but it was really really tasty.  My house smelled like burgers for several day. Peanuty Chicken with Bok Choy and Rice.   This one came with a packet of Sriracha so you can control the spice.  ...

Spaghetti with sausage

I bought some breakfast sausage in a tube, added it to store bought sauce, and baked some frozen garlic bread.  It tasted like heaven.

First family meal at the new house

Yes I made pulled pork in the crockpot, roasted red potatoes with rosemary, cheddar corn muffins, pasta salad and baked beans complete with the strips of bacon across the top.  It's the way my mom makes it.  I made chocolate chip cookie bars for dessert.

Hungry Jack Pancakes

I wanted breakfast for dinner and I made these pancakes without a nonstick skillet.  It wasn't perfect, but with some syrup it tasted like pancakes for dinner!

Cajun Chicken Alfredo

I make this a lot.  It was the second thing I made in my new house :)  I need to buy wine glasses...

Apple Braid

This was the first thing I baked in my new house :) an apple braid that I shared with a co-worker.

Corned Beef and Cabbage in the Crockpot

Happy St. Patrick's Day.  This is the same crockpot corned beef and cabbage recipe I have previously posted.  Yum

I want all the desserts

There is a nice farmer's market at the beach.  This is lemon Amish friendship bread and apple crumb topped pie and vanilla ice cream.  You can't eat too many desserts.

Plain Cheesecake

Just another beach weekend with friends and CHEESECAKE

Oreo Cupcakes

These had a whole Oreo in the bottom of the cupcake, then vanilla cake batter, Oreo cookie crumbs in the buttercream, and mini Oreo toppers.  Happy Birthday Harold!

Merry Christmas

Lindsey's Baked Potato Soup

I've taken this soup to parties.  It is that good! 4 large baking potatoes (baked and scooped out) 6 cups milk 3/4 cup flour 3/4 cup butter 2 t salt 2 t pepper 1 t garlic powder 4 green onions 1 cup cheddar cheese 12 strips of bacon 8 oz. sour cream First get your oven hot and your potatoes baked.  While they are baking away you can fry your bacon and prepare the rest of the soup.  Chop your green onions (3 for soup, 1 for topping later), shred your cheese, and chop your bacon. In a large pasta pot melt your butter, then add your flour and whisk until it's smooth and bubbling. Slowly whisk in milk. When bubbling, turn to low and add salt, pepper, green onions, garlic, bacon, and cheese. Add the sour cream just before finishing. Top with extra sour cream, cheese, and bacon.
