Christmas Baking

Oreo Truffles Crush 1 package of oreo cookies in the food processor.  Then add 1 package of softened cream cheese and blend until the mixture looks like mud.  Scoop 1 tablespoon of oreo mixture onto wax paper and pop in the freezer.  Roll into balls when they are frozen.  Freeze 10 minutes at least.  I froze mine over night.  Dip in melting chocolate.  I used Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers, which I melted over a double boiler.  I used a toothpick to dip each ball into the chocolate.  While the chocolate is still wet I put on holiday sprinkles.  I then froze everything again for the chocolate to set.  I am keeping my truffles in a foil lined holiday tin in the fridge.   Peppermint Blossoms Makes about 36 cookies 1/2   cup   unsalted butter   room temperature 3/4   cup   sugar 1   egg 1/2   teaspoon   pure peppermint extract 1   tablespoon   whole milk 1 1/4   cups   + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1/8   teaspoon   salt 1/4   teaspoon   baking powder 1 10-   ounce   bag He

Sierra's Grill

Restaurants in a lot of our counties have been set back to takeout only again.  This is the California Burrito from Sierra's Grill.  Where Adam and I had our first date!  This sucker is huge and heavy.

Sloppy Joe, Slop Sloppy Joe

I have never made sloppy joe before.  My mom never made it for me either.  It turned out awesome!  I did substitute ground beef for ground pork in the recipe .  I just didn't think pork sloppy joe sounded right.  I liked the pickled onion addition.  Do people ever add cheese to these?

Neo Pizza

So we had a great pizza/happy hour place called Pub Dog.  There was a gas leak that blew up part of the shopping center and everything has been closed for over a year now.  This place popped up where Cheeburger Cheeburger used to be and I was eager to try the white pizza with arugula and prosciutto.  People had also raved about the onion rings so I grabbed those too.  This whole meal was a huge let down on a Friday night :(  I won't be back.

Tuscan Chicken Over Creamy Tomato Linguine

I hardly get chicken from the meal delivery boxes.  They are usually good when I make them.  This recipe was great and I may try to make it on my own!  I don't even like tomatoes, but these were cooked down a lot.

Rebecca had a birthday!

We celebrated a little late, but these were the softest most perfect devil's food cupcakes!

TBH Bagels comes to Columbia

A new bagel shop opened in Dobbin area.  I tried a salt bagel with ham, bacon, avocado, and mayo.  I wasn't as good as Uber bagel at the beach or Bagel Place in College Park.  It was salty and had a lot of bacon.  There wasn't a lot of avocado.  I'm used to so much avocado on my bagel sandwich at Bagel Bin that it squirts out everywhere!  I haven't been back, but I think I will try just a plan bagel with scallion cream cheese.  That is my order from Bagel Bin usually when I'm getting breakfast.  It will be a true comparison.

I really like reuben sandwiches

I ordered this guy from Corner Stable.  It was a bit too soggy for me, but nice thickness of meat!

Birria Tacos

These are all the range near me lately.  I went to Pollo Fiesta II for these bad boys.  They are very good and VERY messy.  You dip the tacos into the consomme.  I love them.

Korean Food

I found Myong Dong near my boyfriend's place.  We tried the bimbimbap, spicy soup and fried chicken!

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Not a fancy week night dinner.  I need to know who makes the best frozen meatballs.

Reuben Sandwich

I broke out the panini press yesterday and made reubens for lunch.   Seedless rye bread, buttered on the outside Russian Dressing on both sides Kraut Corned Beef Swiss Cheese I bought 1/2 pound of deli sliced corned beef and it was enough for 3 sandwiches.

Italian Drip Beef Sandwich

Ingredients: 1 beef check roast 1 can beef consomme 1 packet Italian Good Seasonings Half jar of pepperoncini, some of the juice 1/4 cup water Hoagie Rolls Provolone Cheese Butter (optional) Place the first 5 ingredients in a crockpot on low for about 6 hours, stir ocassionaly to keep top of beef moist. Split and butter hoagie rolls and bake in oven, 375 degrees, until a bit toasted. When beef has fully cooked, shred in the pot. Top buttered rolls with beef and peppers and provolone cheese. Pop back into the oven for the cheese to melt. Pour the juices from the crockpot into ramekins for dipping. I served the sandwiches with red skin mashed potatoes.  You can pour some of the beef juice on them if you want.   Wash and cut red skin potatoes into about 1 inch pieces.  Place in cold salted water.  Boil until fork easily pierces the potatoes.  Strain and place in stand mixer.  Add butter, sour cream, splash of milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper and mix until creamy.   Enjoy!

I love Egg Roll in a Bowl!

Ingredients: Ground Pork Green Onion, separated the whites and greens Asian Sesame Dressing Slaw Mix Sriracha Hoisin Sauce Fresh Ginger Rice Wonton Peanuts Heat olive oil in skillet and add ground pork.  Move pork into a stainer.  Add green onion whites and slaw mix to pan.  Heat until softened then add pork back in with the ginger, hoisin and sriracha sauce.  When everything is softened add in the green onion greens that have been soaking in the salad dressing.  Top white rice with pork mixture and add garnishes like wontons and peanuts.

Homechef box

Jumped at the chance to make broccoli cheese risotto for the third time!  Also ordered a mushroom pasta.

Beach food!

Bahama Mama and Orange Dreamsicle Snowballs.  It was supposed to rain Saturday so we didn't go on the beach. Sunday was a visit to Old Berlin and Rayne's Reef Soda Fountain and Grill.  Extremely large rootbeer float. Take out from Denovo's in Ocean Pines.  I had linguine with meatballs and side salad.  It was enough food that it was Fri night dinner and Sat lunch. Two weeks ago I made a lot of food at the beach!  BBQ chicken, corn, potato salad, macaroni and cheese for dinner.  Sausage, cinnamon bun cake, and roasted potatoes for breakfast.   BJs on the water has a drink called Sailor's Delight.  It is the best!
