Chicken Cordon Blue Pasta

Ingredients:
8 ounce softened cream cheese
1 package of chicken tenders cut into 1 inch pieces
1/2 small onion, diced
6 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup ham, diced
3/4 cup bacon, cooked and diced
12 ounce penne pasta, cooked
several slices of seedless rye bread cut into bite size pieces
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
parsley
2 cups heavy cream, plus more
2 cups gruyere and swiss blend cheese

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cook pasta according to directions.
Cook chicken and diced onion in about 3-4 tablespoons butter.  Salt and pepper chicken
Melt the cream cheese in a saucepan, then add in 2 cups cream and combine well, then add in 1 cup of the cheese.
Melt a few tablespoons butter.  Pour over bread cubes.  Add 1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, and some parsley.  Stir together and set to the side.
In a greased casserole dish layer the cooked pasta, then the chicken, then the diced ham and diced bacon, pour over the cream cheese sauce, sprinkle with remaining cheese, and top with bread.
If you believe there is not enough sauce just pour more heavy cream in.  I choose to do this.
I placed in the oven for about 15-20 minutes.  It should be bubbling.  Test a bread cube to see if it is crispy.  If it's not the set the broiler on for a few minutes.
Serve with a salad

Raku

Last night our friends had reservations for Raku and invited us along. We went to the Bethesda location but there is also a location near Dupont Circle and in Arlington. http://www.rakuasiandining.com/ They only had chopsticks at the table and I'm terrible at using them Luckily everyone else at the table was great at using chopsticks. When our friends were served the tofu salad (this looked good and you must love seaweed) they brought them forks but they used chopsticks and I scored a fork :) Our friends also ordered some spring rolls but the spring rolls on the menu seemed to come with shrimp which I dont eat. The dipping sauces that came with their rolls looked really good. The presentation of the dish was really nice They split an entree which was a bento box with beef tenderloin with pomegranate wine sauce (they said the sauce was divine) and an assortment of fish, tempura veggies, some mushrooms etc. It was a huge box of food My husband and I ordered 8 tempura green bean s...
