Williamsburg VA

We purchased 2 10-item sampler tickets for Busch Gardens Mardi Gras event.  We had rum runners, hurricanes, margaritas, crawfish boil, beignets, cajun chicken, gumbo, cajun meatballs, etc.  All were pretty good.  The beignets were so good we got them both days.

We went to Matchsticks BBQ for dinner.  I got pork with mac n cheese and slaw on top.  Boyfriend got pork with greens and beans on top.  These were so good!  I highly recommend this place.  You wont go hungry and it was fantastic.  They do sell out so go early.

Dessert was the limoncello cake from Sal's by Victor.  We had Sal's last time we visited.  My pasta was bland, but the cakes were so good I wanted to get it again this visit.

Next dinner night was Olde Towne Pizza and Pasta.  Classic Italian American dishes.  This was baked ziti with beef covered in a lot of cheese.  Maybe too much cheese!  I enjoyed it though.

This breakfast was Tipsy Beans.  I had the pineapple mango smoothie and the peanut butter banana granola toast.  Food was solid.  Service was good.  I'd go again!  We tried Another broken egg cafe too.  I had a power waffle with banana and a drizzle of peanut butter.  I don't know if it was worth going back for more.

We were in Williamsburg for National Margarita Day!  We tried La Terraza.  They have $3 house margaritas on Monday and Tuesdays.  I had 3!  They were actually pretty strong, but small.  Boyfriend and I both got the burrito Mexicano.  It was huge and delicious.  We also had queso fundido which I haven't had in a long time.  The only downfall of this place was their chips.  They weren't great.  Not fresh tasting at all.  The salsa was also bland.  No kick to it at all.  Not even garlic and oniony.

Crockpot Salsa Chicken

This was easy, done in less than 4 hours, and it tasted good Slow-Cooker Salsa Chicken Ingredients 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 1 cup salsa (I used a whole jar of Pace Pico de Gallo) 1/2 package taco seasoning 1 can cream of chicken soup (condensed) 1/2 cup reduced fat sour cream 1 can black beans, rinsed A few handfuls of frozen corn Directions Add chicken to slow cooker. Sprinkle taco seasoning over chicken. Pour salsa and soup over chicken. Add black beans and corn I stir it all together Cook on high for about 3.5 hours and cut chicken to check for doneness. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. The first night we ate this mix with these corn tamales we buy, that have no filling. They are just cornbread. We threw some shredded Mexican cheese on top of the salsa chicken mix The second night DH ate the mix, with cheese again, on tortillas I put tortilla chips in a bowl and poured the mixture on top, added cheese. It was like a Mexican chicken chili :) I will be making th...
