French Onion Soup
3 large Vidalia Onions, thinly sliced
2 14-ounce cans of beef broth
2 10-ounce cans of beef consomme
1 packet of onion dip mix (Lipton's)
1 loaf of French bread, dice into crouton size
Shredded Gruyere cheese
Toss onions, broth, consomme, and dip mix in the crockpot.
Cook on high for 4 hours, or low for 8 hours.
Ladle soup in serving crocks, toss in the French bread cubes, and top with cheese.
Set oven to broil and broil until the cheese is melted and bubbling. This will only take a minute or so!
